Some new additions are coming...

A few weeks ago, I was looking online at guinea pigs.  I came across a very interesting, or what I thought was interesting variety, skinny pigs and Baldwin guinea pigs.  Skinny pigs are pretty much hairless.  They do tend to have a bit of hair on parts of their body.  Baldwins on the other hand, are born with hair and it falls out when they are just a few weeks old.  They are totally hairless usually by the time they are a month old.  I decided that I wanted to get some of these interesting little guys.  After searching the internet, I found a breeder of both types of guinea pigs.  Baldwins seem to be very difficult to find.  They are such a new variety and not many people have them.  I contacted the breeder and I now am getting two adorable males.  They are not bald, but they carry the genes and will possibly throw offspring that will be totally bald.  I was only going to try to get Baldwins, but the more I looked at the skinny pigs, the more they grew on me.  I had to have some of them too!  I now will be getting the two Baldwin gene carriers and eight skinny pigs.  Two of the skinnies are gene carriers.  I can't wait to pick them up from the airport in a couple of weeks.  Needless to say, I have been busy building new cages and trying to figure out just where to put everyone.
Here are some pictures of my new piggies!

This beautiful girl is actually pregnant right now and will be having her babies after she gets here.  Hopefully, the plane ride and the new home won't affect her.  I can't wait to see her babies!
